Hiya
Anyone know anything about conservatories?! Smile
We have a quote for glass which has a rating of A and 1.0. Not sure how good this is re efficiency etc. Also, the glass is 4mm thick, and I have in my head that glass is usually thicker than that Hmm.
Not sure where to look on the net for info as I am a diy/building novice, so thought I would ask here Smile.
Any advice/experts/directions for help would be really appreciated.

We have one we are planning to knock down, we hate it! It's freezing in winter and boiling hot in summer. Are you sure you really want one?!

GlassWerks · 18/09/2013 20:29

Lol! Yes, we do want one Smile. We need more space and can't afford the extra 20k we've been quoted for an extension. We are having wet underfloor heating to deal with the cold, and the conservatory will be north facing, so shouldn't get too hot.
Now, do you know anything about glass ratings? Smile

They are unusable by the end of September. Having said that we have heated it for Christmas and newyear, very ££££ nowadays. I have never found it uncomfortable in summer. I expect Thomas Sanderson blinds, roof vents and all windows open, and not being south facinghelps.
