Attaching a mirror to an old plastered wall

It's an IKEA bathroom mirror which is about 2 ft by 3 ft. I need to attach it to a wall which has been skimmed and painted. I think the plasterer had to put some kind of stabilising solution to fix the crumbly nature of the wall underneath the skim.

So, what sort of screws do I need to buy? I m guessing the enclosed IKEA ones may not hold it as what if I end up drilling into the crumbly stuff underneath?

I have crumbly walls. Drill a pilot hole with a tiny drill and then gradually grow the hole. So long as the screws are very long you'll be fine as you'll be drilling beyond the plaster and into brick.

Be sure to use rawl plugs.

Thanks for the reply. Isn't brick really hard to drill into?

A decent electric drill will make short work of it.
