Would I be able to get a copy of planning permission?

After advice please.

We bought a repossession and looking at mouseprice I can see that in 2005 planning permission was granted for an extension.

Obviously we didn't get all the information when we bought but is there any way we can get a copy of the plans that were lodged? (Guessing as it was 2005 there won't be). I have looked at the local planning department's website but can't see anything. Is it worth giving them a call, would I be able to look elsewhere or will we just have to start again if we ever want to extend ourselves?

Thanks in advance

Depends a bit on the department I think but we downloaded our 2006 planning permission to go with a recent sale. Most sites you just enter the postcode and you'll get a list - whether it goes far enough back... Hard to say. If it was acted on there's no guarantee it would be granted again though.

You can do a search on our Local Authority website - the records go back years! For a fairly recent application like yours you should be able to see it, or at least request a copy, they are public record after all. There may be a small charge for a paper copy.

That's great, thanks. Will have a better look tomorrow :)

Hi- you should be able to get copies from the council. We already had ours (from 1995 old houseowners) but the planning agreement only lasts for 5 years.

Thanks all. Finally got around to emailing the council.
