If I'm too tight to pay for f&b slipper satin, I should buy.....?

That's it, really.

Not much money left after moving house. I really want slipper satin walls, white ceilings and white satin/eggshell woodwork (I'm open to suggestions re woodwork ).

Is there a cheaper alternative with a similar off white?

Anyone? Or are you all middle class enough to hear the expense Wink

Can you ask B&Q or Homebase to colour match?

Get it colour matched at a Dulux counter, even cheaper at builders' merchant than diy stores.

Ah, thank you. I have actually gone to b and q and got them to colour match with valspar paint - will report back on whether this is a success or not!

I've heard good things about colour matching at laylnd paints, and they do some really good, practical (ie child-proof) emulsion.

Erk. Leyland.

I would probably say sod it and fork out for F&B if I'd set my heart on it! It's the finish and quality as well as the colour.
Having said that, the Dulux and Leyland paint matching is great. Or have a look at other 'heritage' paint ranges and buy on special offer. We used a lovely Craig & Rose paint from B&Q that we got on special offer and pensioner day (thanks mum!) in DD2's bedroom and it looks as good as F&B.

It's the child proof element that decided me. Not so much the cost, as the cost of repainting again in six months because of sticky hand prints! There will farrow and ball in my life but perhaps not til I have children who are more grown (my new carpet has been down four days and my seven year old has imprinted a huge muddy footprint on it today...)
