terrible builders - should I name them and shame them?

Hi, we've had an incredibly stressful experience with builders doing a loft conversion for us. They had glowing reviews on Ratedpeople.com, which is where I found them. I am tempted to put my own review there spelling out how appalling they were. But I'm worried as they know where we live and have had our keys or ages that they might do something bad to our property or even ourselves. They are sole traders, so there is no wider company that is accountable.
Does anyone have any thoughts? Just trying to gage opinion.
Many thanks

If you don't post a review, then it makes the website worthless.

Change your locks if you are worried.

Can you take them to small claims court? If you suffered any financial loss, I mean.

Protect yourself if you do a review. I would change the locks and give a general review with a good period of time between them finishing and reviewing. No harm in protecting others from a bunch of cowboys.

if they are that bad - you might find that they wouldn't know the review was from you ?! ie could have been anyone from the last few months ?!?

You could leave a bad review but just add a few different details so they won't know it's you. For example, give a different location to where you live, say you had a cellar conversion rather than loft etc. If you think they are the type of people that would come back to your house I would change the locks anyway if they have had your keys.

From what I 've heard I would take good reviews on sites like rated people with a pinch of salt.
