Sturdy toilet seats

We are doing a house up and are keeping existing loos but putting new seats on - currently they have wee infested "wood".
We are all slightly broader of beam than average, so am looking to see if any of you have bought a white soft close loo seat that has not "gone sideways" off the pan, or cracked or generally buckled under within 12 months. Happy to throw more money than average at it, for quality. We are not yet in the realms of bariatric raised loo seats on disabled websites, however :)
Thanks

I find the wooden seats, including those made of compressed and painted wood particle, are sturdier than seats commonly available.

If you buy a new WC from a major UK maker, it is likely to come with a very thick hard plastic seat (thicker than you will usually find in the shops) which is very hard and strong.

seats often come with stainless steel hinges these days, which are stronger than the plastic ones, but need to be adjusted and tightened with extra care, and sometimes adding a hard rubber washer between porcelain and metal, which will grip and not cause a crack or chip when tightened hard. I find a black rubber tap washer is good for this, on the underside of the ledge where it is out of sight. Rubber clamped tightly to glazed porcelain sticks and will not slide or creep.

the only problem I have found with the cheaper painted wood is that the paint wear off sharp edges, presumably by being rubbed when cleaning.
