We are considering putting an offer in on a house. This would be with a view to replacing and remodelling the kitchen which is a bit of an odd space at the moment.
The current owners have taken the original kitchen extension (built onto the back if the original Victorian house) and added another extension beside it so its the width of the house. There is only a door between the two sections so in essence its a room with a wall in the middle (they have called it a utility, but the sink, fridge and cupboards are in that area so its really half the kitchen).
My question is how easy it is generally to remove what would have been the original external wall to create one space? The estate agent has said it would be fine, but I don't really want to offer on the property until we know its definitely possible as the current set up is not very usable.
Would it be the done thing to ask if we could get a builder round before we've even put in an offer?
Also, if anyone has an idea as to rough costs to do this that would be really great :)
