Converting a window into a door?

We live in a Victorian Terrace, the back reception room has a large tilt & turn window in it and we were wondering whether it would work converting it into a door?

Tbh the window is about 2/3 the size of a door anyway, but the floor needs work (probably replacing due to potential problems with the floor plate) and we were contemplating getting the door done then. We've seen several houses with this done but were wondering whether it would put people off buying it later (our houses are often advertised as 4 bedrooms with the back room as the 4th), whether we would need planning permission and also any pointers on cost (we are SE London / N Kent borders).

TIA!

We've done this in two rooms, utility and study, and well worth it in both cases. Full length curtains in the study means it isn't draughty, and working with the door open is lovely.

Our costs were built into loads of other building work, so I can't remember, but the doors were hardwood, and double glazed, so pricey. I think around £600 each. I'm sure you could do it much cheaper though (ours had to match existing woodwork styles).

We didn't need planning permission, it came under "permitted development" but I think that varies by area, so a quick call to your council would clear that up. I think it is different from turning a door into a window, which can need a warrant I think.
