uninspiring selections in b&q, home base etc. we are looking for something silvery grey and sparkley and hope to fit it ourselves. not too pricy either.

anyone any suggestions?

i had a look in carpet right but thy were way to pricey.
what i did when buying mine was google 'lino shops in xxxxxxx' and wrote down the names and adresses of the ones i was going to visit, chose the design and asked them to quote me the cost of the lino and the fitting.
i had measured the room bfore so knew it would be very accurate and went with what i felt was the best deal

we did carpetright - didn't notice them being too pricey and I don;t think I'm mega rich or anything! Good selection and excellent service IME

I bought some lino from moreforyourfloor which I discovered through their ebay store.

It was good quality and much cheaper than anything I could source locally. It's been fitted for over six months now and I've been really pleased with it.

It's mostly tile and wood effect, but there might be something that inspires you on their site. They will send out free samples.

Delivery was very quick.

Sorry, ignore last post. Just remembered it was actually vinyl flooring I bought and not true lino.

vinyl / lino = all the same to me!

Carpet Right for our kitchen. Chose the best we could afford. Their fitter was great and 2 years later it still looks good.

I've been looking at vinyl tiles - I think they're going to be easier to fit, and there are some bleeding gorgeous ones about!

I understand tiles are less durable and have a tendency to peel on the corners. nevertheless where have you seen nice ones?
