Kitchen layout- extra units / worktop or a free standing dresser?

We're in the process of designing a kitchen for our new house- old one to be completely gutted. The kitchen isn't going to be very big (3.6 x 3.5)- but we're planning on having a good sized utility built alongside. Our plan is that the utility room will have a Belfast sink, the large fridge-freezer, our small appliances (e.g. Microwave, slow cooker, breadmaker, acti-fry...) and will also have a large built in larder. So, the kitchen being small should be okay.

It has an open hearth which is crying out for a beautiful, cream range master induction cooker (drool- will have to buy from eBay as no way we'd be able to afford new!). We'll be able to fit an L shaped row of units, including sink, along one side /corner and a kitchen table in the middle. This leaves another L shaped corner. Any opinions on whether you'd have more units, or would you go for a free standing dresser?

Thanks!!

Personally I would go for freestanding every time ! Have you looked at Neptune! Beautiful furniture !

Please note - I'm a freelance kitchen designer - so not all kitchen designers just want to fill your room with kitchen cupboards !!!

Have you looked on Houzz for inspiration ? Millions of photos of beautiful rooms !
