What kind of tradesman would fix my wardrobe door runners?

Recently I have wanted to grab my wardrobe doors and fling them all out the effing window. There are three huge mirror doors which should slide smoothly along enabling access to my wonderful collection of clothes inside Hmm.

Of course, they all now stick and I think also one of the tracks has got damaged so they are all a nightmare to move along and so I hardly use that wardrobe. Which seems rather a waste :)

But I thought well who would I ask to fix my track and sort it all out? Do you get wardrobe fixers? Confused

A handy man? Odd job man?

Have a look in the local paper or review sites?

Could rubbing a wax candle on them help?

Other than that do you know the name of the makers for spares?

Are you sure they are in the runner properly, mine do this if they are bumped . If you can't lift back into place yourself or with a friend. If you still need someone ratedpeople.com can find a handy man in your area

spray a load of wd40 on the runners? or take them off and give it a good clean and hoover.

handymen are hard to find I find!

Thanks guys. I really thought I had hit the jackpot then with "most boring thread subject ever" but I got some responses. :)

Yes, it's not just waxing them up, though I shall do that as well, I think one is damaged.

So you think a normal handyman would manage it? Great, I shall get onto it.

Thank you! :)

Or a joiner.

how old are they and do you know where they come from? I know someone who fits them and they came out and sorted ours when they started sticking. There were pieces missing off the top of the doors to help them slide properly and they needed hoovering regularly along the bottom.

are you saying we are boring? Shock Smile

SoupDragon · 26/07/2013 07:47

I was going to suggest WD40.
