Sheet lino or those self-adhesive vinyl tiles?

We have an old lean-to conservatory on the front of the house, which I am trying to tart up a bit, and want to take up the filthy old carpet and replace it with something not too expensive.

Has anyone got any experience of either normal lino/vinyl flooring that comes on a roll, or the self-adhesive vinyl tiles?

I did our vestibule with self-adhesive vinyl tiles, to be fair they were very cheap Homebase ones, but they're a bit pants to be honest. Partly that's my own fault because I didn't check the packs to make sure the wood-effect 'grain' matched so it looks like crazy paving in there! But also the tiles which get most footfall have cracked, some of those where the floor meets the skirting are peeling at the edges, some have warped and lifred in the heat and it was also just plain bloody difficult to get all the edges aligned when laying them.

I'm taking them up this year and replacing them with the same sheet vinyl we have in the utility room which is much better and didn't cost much more per m2.

Thank you - it gets very hot in our conservatory, and it was the Homebase ones I was looking at, so I'll go with the sheet vinyl.... thanks so much for replying.

My downstairs loo has (unconvincing) wood-effect vinyl tiles, probably also from Homebase and I hate them. I was careful when gluing them, and although none have cracked, a couple have still lifted slightly at the edges with repeated mopping. I am tolerating them for the time being as I intend to have it the loo replaced soon but will lay real floor tiles then. But given a choice between vinyl tiles or sheet I'd go for sheet.

We have slate effect ones from b&q and they're brilliant. They look nice and have been down 3 years without showing any wear. They were laid over plywood though so the surface was very smooth , which made them easy to apply. I would use them again.
