Preparing appliances (Freezer and tumble dryer) for house move

What needs to be done to prepare a freezer (large upright thing) and tumble dryer (condenser) for being moved and spending a month in storage on the way?

Have already defrosted freezer and left door ajar so it should be nice and dry inside, and with the tumble dryer I will obviously empty the drawer where the water collects and take out and dry the condenser unit, but are there likely to be any other pipey bits (technical term!) in either appliance where water may collect that need draining? And if so, how?

no other pipey bits. :-) Just tape up all loose items so they don't get tangled.

your freezer may go mouldy if stored closed. If you will be there when it is put into store, be prepared with a couple of bits of foam and some masking tape. Before it gets buried in the store, tape the door with the foam wedged in to keep it slightly ajar.

and take out all glass shelves, pack separately. Learnt that one the hard way..

I had a fridge freezer in storage for 5 months and the inside of the freezer door was covered in mould when we got it out. Luckily I was able to just wipe it off and it was all fine though since eating food from it we've gone green and furry. So yes I agree about having the door ajar.

Although our fridge freezer was in storage for a while with the door nicely wedged ajar - which just enabled mice to get in and eat the plastic! Yep - the hard plastic lining of the fridge. It wasn't a proper storage place though - just a garage.
