Commuting via Thames Clipper - practical?

Is the Clipper a practical way to commute from Chelsea to the City daily? We will be moving to Chelsea from Holland Park and both DH and I work right around Bank station. I'm wondering if daily commuters use the Clipper or if the tube is the best option still. The tube route from Sloane Sq. to Bank just looks bad compared to our past breezy Central Line commute. Chelsea seems to lack tube access so I'm unsure what people who live there do, who work in the City.

You need to live fairly near the pier (Chelsea Habour ) for it to be viable but he catamarans are frequent during peak hours and fast probably about 15 minutes to Blackfriars but you have to change at Embankment Pier to get to Bankside( cross over Millenium Bridge for the city). It's a lovely commute and you always get a seat.

Wouldn't you just get the tube direct from Sloane Sq to Monument? That's practically Bank anyhow.
