Wtf do they do this? They have had survey, no major problems, instructed solicitor, and then for no reason at all they pull out!

Why why why?

Its a power thing along with being feckless inconsiderate idiots.

Ours are teetering on pulling out. It was supposed to be a quick cash sale. Four months on, two surveys (neither, we understand, turned up anything other than a gutter needs repairing). They have got planning for a change of use, we kept off the market whilst they obtained this now they suddenly are talking about mid August. We thought when we accepted the offer we'd be out early May.

MisForMumNotMaid · 24/06/2013 20:19

See if you, your estate agent, can guilt them into a copy of the survey. It could be a positive for future purchasors.

orangeandemons · 24/06/2013 20:30

They pulled out I think because we couldn't move until the start of August. We only sold in May, so would have been about 3 months overall, maybe a bit more. Not fast enough apparently....

I have never been able to ove into a house in under 4 months. Am seriously pissed off.

Sounds like a flimsy excuse. They're unlikely to be able to buy somewhere else it that time frame.

RandomMess · 24/06/2013 20:43

Perhaps they just found a house they loved much more than yours?

Very tough on you though Sad

TerrysNo2 · 24/06/2013 20:53

because they are inconsiderate sods. that's what I call our buyer who pulled out anyway. and I have a voodoo doll Wink

orangeandemons · 24/06/2013 20:59

Voodoo doll. There's an idea...

Had you agreed a date for moving out at the beginning? Just from a buyer's perspective, we are moving soon and have agreed a tight schedule and will definitely pull out if the vendors start moving the date (but we made that clear when we put the offer in).

orangeandemons · 24/06/2013 21:14

Yes, we made a clear date very early on.

They are just twats

That's rubbish then, sorry for you

specialsubject · 24/06/2013 21:37

perhaps they have split up, someone is very ill, they have lost a job...who knows?

painful for you but that's how it is.

I feel for you. I hate the way property is sold in the UK. Here in the US no one takes you seriously unless you put down at least 5% cash when you make your offer. Should you pull out for a reason not listed in your agreement you lose your deposit. That is the way it should be.

In the UK I have sold four homes and I never stop showing a house until payment is made. Agents try to stop showing a house after they have an accepted offer which is wrong. I had one couple try to lower the price by walking away at the last minute. Didn't work....

I'm buying at the moment. Cash buyer. Vendor wanted really quick sale. He hoped to exchange this week and complete next week or at the latest the 12th July. Today estate agent says the tenants didn't move out on the 15th June as they were due to (though my daughter saw people leaving that day) and the vendor has let them stay a bit longer...another week which is already into its second week. I am so stressed. Nothing much else on the market and we have some work to do in it to be ready for September and I live in Edinburgh and this is London. Another sleepless night ahead.
