3 houses for sale in same street at same time

Does this suggest something?

3 people just desperate to move?

Some sort of issue with the area?

Co-incidence?

It's very intriguing, I'm not sure if its just unlucky for them they are all going on the market at the same time, or something is driving them all away...

Thoughts?

It would make me wonder too. Is there a big road / housing estate / factory planned for nearby?

Onesleeptillwembley · 21/06/2013 20:56

How big is the street? Is it a few years old, is it younger growing families that all bought new moving on?

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 21/06/2013 20:58

Not sure, newish estate, been around about 4 years and they were originally out of my price range but they are all now at a lower starting point so feasible if I could ditch my flat pronto. Might do some digging to see if I can figure it out.

Its contagious house moving. Houses always seam to go on in clusters. I've just brought having looked in the same two roads for five/ six years. Three houses came on within a few weeks of each other then two more since. Thats out of about thirty properties. Only one other has been on in years.

I would ask around though you should soon hear if there are other issues going on.

johnnycomelurky · 21/06/2013 21:00

Surely it depends how big the street is-do you mean a short street/the same block? There are three or more houses for sale on all the streets around me, it's a desirable area and no issues AFAIK. Perhaps it's that the market is picking up and people have been holding off on selling until it did?

If it's a new build estate this is really normal. There always seem to be loads of me builds up for sale round here. It could well be that the people bought it as a rung of the 'ladder' and intended to move on to something bigger in c.5 years.

Also, if a couple of houses have sold recently in a street, it can encourage others to try to sell theirs too. A few houses of have sold in the street at the end of my road (and quickly too), so now several have come up for sale. There's nothing wrong with the road at all.

In my street of 100 or so houses, it suggests that a lot of the elderly people who have lived here have died or moved into homes.

I always notice that a lot of houses go up for sale close to a popular secondary school with a tight catchment area around June - presumably so the people who live their can move out of catchment into something bigger than a shoebox.

there! Blush

Where we live people are cashing in. Lots of people selling up having been in the area for 15-20 years as the house prices are so high Sad.

Sometimes if you live in a family area divorces cause sales.

bunchamunchycrunchycarrots · 21/06/2013 21:30

Just checking them out again. They have the tiniest living rooms but good sized kitchens and they are all end terraced homes too. If only I could ditch my flat...

Three were in my road recently when we sold, I think just a cyclical thing. Two were elderly people vacating to go into homes and us relocating. Nothing dodgy here...
