Kitchen worktop with drainer?

We are having a new kitchen, lucky us, but the choice seems endless!!
I'm thinking about an undermount 1.5 sink with drainer grooves in the worktop. I've seen a sonora worktop I like in Magnet but I'm not sure how well they work and if they are easy to keep clean. Anyone got any advice?
Thanks in advance.

We've got an undermount sink with cut grooves in our granite top. They look very nice but they don't drain very well, not sure I'm going to get them again in our new kitchen.

What will the Worktop be made of?
Will you use the drainage a lot (do you have a dishwasher)?

If used for washing up then I wouldn't go down that route. If used occasionally then it'll be fine.

Thanks for your replies,I'm sorry I've not been back on sooner. Magnet do a Sonara worktop which I like and is solid so ok for grooves and shaping as we want some curved units. We have a dishwasher so it's more for glasses and roasting tins that could do with a soak. It seemed like a good way to gain extra worktop space in one area without having to move anything. If that makes sense.
Wonkylegs, whats your sink made of? I'm not sure whats best. The undermounts in Magnet are ceramic or stainless steel. Not sure about the ss but I don't know how tough the ceramic ones are. Kitchen planner is coming next week to measure up so hopefully I will have had a few more thoughts by then. :-)

I have a stainless steel undermount sink with quartz worktop/drainer. We always seem to have a load of dishes draining there (usually the plastic stuff that doesn't dry in the dishwasher). Its not a problem. My main concern with using it for other stuff is I worry that glasses/crockery would break but I figure if I ever need to do this then I will put a tea towel underneath to soften the blow.

Anyway it all looks very nice and it is good to have the extra space to spread into. I think it looks cleaner than a stainless steel drainer beside the sink. I just give it a wipe down daily with a clean cloth and every few days with a worktop cleaner.

Thanks Wonkylegs. I think they look nice too and I'm not that keen on a lot of the modern sinks I've seen. I'm fairly good at drying up straight away so hopefully no accidents and the idea of a tea towel is a good one. It's the extra space to spread in to as you say, that will probably swing it for me.
