Why would a sold price not be listed on any property website...?

Or even on the land registry for that matter? We lost our 'new' house a few days before exchange this time last year. We didn't manage to find a new buyer for our 'old' house in time to stop someone else buying it.

They completed in September and I have always wondered what they got it for. But its no where to be found, on Mouseprice, Zoopla, Land Registry... no where. I am nosey so I keep looking (to torture myself). Is there a way you can just opt out of everyone else (like me) knowing what you bought/sold your house for???

We bought privately and it isnt on there.

Are you absolutely sure the sale completed? Could the vendors have pulled out and removed the property from the market?

It did sell because a builder bought it, did it up, stuck it back on the market and it has just sold again (people moved in this weekend). I am not a stalker ahem I just happen to drive past it every day...

I don't know... But here's another mystery: I found a house (across the road from one I looked at) which has been 'blanked out' on Google streetview - it has been blurred, from all angles and all distances, so you can't see what it looks like at all!

Not sure about these anomalies but ours was a new build and the price showing on www.ourproperty.co.uk/ at what it was marketed at rather than what we paid

In Germany (where I am) you can opt out of google street view and get your house blurred out.

There was a thread about this a while ago, I think, it can be because they fail to inform the land registry. You can actually report this to the land registry who will chase it up. There is something about it on the land registry page. It's often done by builders who wish to sell on at a profit without disclosing the price they paid.

@ SwedishEdith - oh I hope not: it is a sure-fire way of making your house look conspicuous and attracting attention, I'd say!

There are a fair few exclusions in Land Registry house price data. See here www.landregistry.gov.uk/market-trend-data/house-price-data-exclusions, so if it was registered in the name of the builder's company, for instance, it wouldn't be included.

Mine isn't on, I was worried I hadn't bought it properly or something so rang land registry who said it was definitely mine and they'd sort it, but its still not appearing. At least the neighbours don't know how much I paid I suppose.

You might find that it appears on Rightmove in a few months' time showing the latest sale (it seems to take a few months to appear) and underneath the date and price it may show the previous sale date and price which will be the one you want to know.

I sold my house last year and Rightmove shows that sale, plus the date and amount for the previous sale which was when we bought it over 10 years earlier.

RE Google Streetview, if you are the owner you can asked them to blur out your house.
