Harvey Maria / Cath Kidston floor?

We need a new kitchen floor. Fancy Amtico, but not mad about the price, and none of the designs really float my boat. Spacia is the cheaper Amtico, but I really don't like any of those designs.

But John Lewis have a brand called Harvey Maria which is cheaper than Amtico but looks almost as hard wearing, and they have a design (duck egg spots with white spots) which looks nice IMO and would fit well with existing decor.

Question is .... Does anyone have this stuff - is it any good? And, can I live with the fact that I've bought a Cath Kidston floor? (am very much not a CK person). Am I excused if it's just spots?

I don't have it, but (tenuous link) our local naice garden centre does! They had a sign saying the name of the floor as so many people had been asking where it's from as they liked it! Given it's in very high traffic areas with loads of people walking around and has been there a few years it still looks great. I really like it. I'd love to go with something quirky like the water floor in our bathroom or the grass/meadow floor somewhere but sadly it really doesn't go with our decor Sad

Oh, that sounds promising Restie, thanks.

Me me! I have Harvey Maria flooring. It is great. Really hard wearing, worn well etc. We're getting some more in new house. Lining up those dots though would be a total pita. My partner laid ours and he said it was pretty straightforward to do, but he is pretty handy. We don't have one that would need lining up though. On the CK question... personally I wouldn't as it would date, and I don't redecorate frequently. But if you like it what does that matter? Grin

It's tricky about the design, l know the floral pattern would date horribly, but I was hoping plain spots would be OK Hmm.

I'm afraid I think that whole retro chintz CK thing will age so the spots along with it. But most things do age

So what did you go for kittens, we looking at the blue spotty one (also not a ck kind of person but thought it would look good)

IHeartKingThistle · 09/10/2013 17:54

We have Harvey Maria floor tiles (black and white) and they look fab. I think the spotty ones look lovely.

We've got the CK spotty ones in our kitchen, they're easy to clean and tough. And they don't look like they 're Cath Kidston either if you get my drift. I'd say go for it.

Yay, thanks guys! Thistle I tried to ask you earlier too but it wouldn't let me on so glad you replied!

That's it, I'm off to order!
