ideas on a narrow bathroom

Can anyone help with ideas on how to make a narrow bathroom look not so narrow? There is just about enough space to fit a bath, a loo next to the head of the bath, and a basin at the foot end of the bath.

Are there any particular bathroom suites that you may know of, and other decorative cleverness? I have thought about a mirror along the length of the long wall... (dreading having the forever wipe smedges off it though)..have thought of using light colours (white) any other ideas would be very welcome

None of our toilets are on external walls anymore, so it can be done.

We have a very narrow bathroom and thought that re-siting the bath across the narrow end would be impossible due to having the boxed in soil pipe in the corner. The plumber replaced with a narrower soil pipe which gave us a couple more inches to play with.

We also re-hung the bathroom door so it opened against the wall. This made a huge difference as before the door when open nearly touched the side of the bath, leaving you having to squeeze between bath and edge of door.

We have a basin set into a cabinet which gives us loads of storage, have a radiator behind the door and narrow shelves above that.

Good luck whatever you do, it's a huge pain, but worth it in the end.

All of our bathroom walls are internal, so it must be possible to have toilet on an internal wall.

Apparently having strips of flooring going across i.e from one long wall to the other, rather than going along the length of the room can make a room appear wider than it is.

Large tiles.

Shiny chrome taps etc. are meant to help as they bounce more light round the room, compared to matt ones.

Use hanging vanity cabinet in your bathroom so that you can use the below space for other purpose. Go for a long single sink vanity with lots of drawers and shelves in this so that you can get more storage space. Our guest room has a small bathroom hence we implemented a 18in wide vanity. I think, it is enough for the daily usage. You can get more ideas for this from here?

A toilet doesn't have to be on an outside wall, ours isn't, but you would have a large pipe which would have to run along the floor to wherever the soil stack is. Most are outside but ours is boxed inside the house and goes out though the roof.
