Shower pressure

More help please Smile

We currently have a power shower installed in the upstairs bathroom. Thinking about it I remember it was installed 15 years ago just because a power shower was a trendy thing to have. I am redoing the shower now and wonder how to work out if the water pressure would be adequate without the pump (it really uses a lot of water as is). We have a low pressure gravity fed system, hot water cylinder is on the same floor as this shower, water tank in the loft.

I'm hoping someone can tell me some magic formula for how long it should take for a bucket to be filled by bathtap (same room) . Or something?

How high is the cold water tank above the shower? This is the distance that matters

Thank you for replying. The shower head is approx 70cms below the ceiling, the tank in the loft is about 1m above the boarded joists. Is that enough?

that's why you need the pump. The alternative is a weedy dribble.

You could fit a new shower head with smaller holes to cut down the water usage. Possibly the pump can be adjusted or changed as well.
