Best Option "Chain Store" Bathroom Refit

As in which of the main companies have you used & were happy with, ie B&Q, Dolphin, Wickes etc etc

We were looking at buying & having it fitted independently, which I know would be a better option - we had intended to knock an old walk in cupboard into the bathroom to make it bigger, but around here getting someone to actually do the job is a complete bloody nightmare, spoilt for work isn't the wordHmm, even friends have messed us around & I've lost count of the number of people we've had round to quote for the job & never heard from again, not even bothered with a quoteConfused - so weve given up on extending the bathroom as I know the chain type fitters wont do it, weve tried in the past :( - & now intend to just get one of the chains refit as is, as I know they will come back & do the job at a fairish price & won't run off screaming if they see old beams or poor parking as we've been told by friends is the reason we have had problems.

So, who would you recommend :)

TIA

Where abouts are you? Maybe someone local could recommend someone they've used?

From experience the likes of B&Q are very expensive and the quality is just ok. Also they won't do things like tiling or flooring, they just fit the bathroom.

Thanks AllIWant but we really have tried everything, including local recommendations via here & elsewhere, builders are just not interested in working on our property, too much choice of potentially easier work around here - we only managed to get our kitchen done as after years if the same fiasco we ended up going to MFI, which sadly doesn't exist anymore, the builders they used were great, but because they hit problems with taking out our old work tops, even they won't come back :( & the ONLY quote that we've managed to get so far for the smaller of our 2 bathrooms - basic straight refit of a shower room - was for over twice the amount of our top of the range kitchen with granite tops - he didn't want to the job :(

So as much as it pains me to go the B&Q et al route, after years of trying I think its the only way I am ever going to get rid of the nasty manky pink bathroom a new bathroom - tilers & flooring aren't a problem - we have a tiler & I can do it myself & we have a good local flooring company who aren't scared if parking as they are in our road

Thanks anyway

What is so difficult about working in your house that is putting them off like this? There are smaller companies which offer full fitting services as well as the big national ones. Have you tried anywhere like that?

We have tried ALL options to many times to want to waste anymore time on it, parking is apparently the main issue & part of our property being very old - oak beam support - even though there's no real problems, apparently it rings alarm bells for lazy arsed local tradesmen, there's no shortage if work around here, so they pick & choose

Can anyone answer my question please

TIA

I don't know which of these stores fits as well as supplies but, from experience, Wickes sinks and toilets are fine, would use again. Am sure Wickes would fit? Bathstore bath also fine - no complaints. From both we picked not exactly top of the range but not cheapest, as it were. Homebase - not great but we were limited by wanting shallower sink and toilet. Just not great quality.

Thank you Edith yes, Wickes do fit, so that sounds like a plan - thank you :)
