has anyone put one in a clip frame
does it look ok?

Can't decide whether to order clip frames or fork out to have them professionally framed.

We usually just dry dishes and mop up spills with ours so I'm assuming these must be really special ones?

Ah that's quite nice. I reckon clip frames always look a bit cheap and studenty though. I'd go for a proper frame. But I probably wouldn't go as far as professional framing, unless you can't get a frame the right size.

I put one in a black frame to go with my Black/white living room. The frame was from 'The Range'. Cost about £12 and looks really good, although I did have to trim the tea towel slightly at the top and bottom as it's slightly longer than the frame but the same width.

Scott Innes tea towels are really nice - I saw them in a posh Scottish shop in a services once, and remembered the name so I could buy some.

I think a proper frame (but from Ikea!) would be nicer than a clip frame. Usually properly framed things wouldn't be easily removable I think...

I love these, my Dh got me one of the aprons with hollyberry on it (not an AIBU topic, I really wanted it!)

I was thinking about getting one in the same range with a stag or highland cow on it to frame - I would get proper frames from Ikea, it will look better and make more impact.

What about pulling the fabric over a frame and stapling it in the back? I have done it with Emma bridgewater fabric and it looks great.

I want the artists signature to show and it's right at the bottom of the towel. Thanks everyone I will look at the sizes of ikea frames.I have emailed a framer but I think that willcost a small fortune cos of the sheer size of them.

Hi ggirl

Have you tried "eframes.co.uk". You can make a frame up to suit whatever size you want or you can use one of their custom made frame, mounting etc.

I have a friend who has used them and the frames look really good.

Am going to order a load of black frames myself with white mounts to put large black and white photos of our travels in my hallway upstairs. Want to match a couple of pictures I had professionally framed years ago and cost me a small fortune (am trying to keep the costs down as I need 6 of them).

Good luck!

I've done this (with fabric samples of Lucienne Day fabric bought off Ebay). Used cheap A3 frames bought off Amazon, about £8 each. Ironed the fabric like a mad thing on hottest poss temp to really get the fabric smooth, and stretched it gently taut going into the frame.

They look fabulous, really fab and groovy and easy to change fabrics for a new look from time to time.

Do NOT fork out for expensive custom frames, I did this for some other paper prints I bought from Etsy. Decided to support the local high st framing shop. £35 per print for framing and they looked lousy and cheap and not well done. Seething. No wonder the high st is in trouble. Grrr.
