baths vs showers

If you were viewing a house would it put you off if it had a lovely large shower rather than a small, poky bathroom?

Would you prefer this small bath or this shower room

I wouldn't go for a small bathroom like that where there is no scope to put a shower over if it was the only bathroom. The shower only room would be fine too, there is the room to put a bath in there if I wanted so it wouldn't be a make or break thing.

The small bathroom with shower over bath would be the best.

I think there has been a thread already, this week, on the bath Vs Shower thing!

Some people don't mind a house without a a bath, however there are alot who DO want a bath.

You would alienate a lot of potential buyers if you don't have a bath.

With small children a bath is easier, so if it's the kind of house that would appeal to a young family that might affect it. But if you are thinking of making a change yourself, do what suits you and let the future take care of itself.

We bought a house where the bath had been removed and a shower alone installed. We reinstated the bath and got a mixer tap. It's only actually used for showers but the option's there.

With a shower alone however big I think I might get a bit fed up with never being able to have a good wallow in my own dirt Wink so again I'd reinstate a bath.

I'd go for the bigger bathroom as you then have the option of putting a bath in.

If I had to choose, I would rather have a bath than a shower, although both is ideal. When I couldn't afford a shower over the bath, I used one of those rubber hose things. For buying a house, I'd rather a small bathroom.

I agree, my bathroom is as tiny as picture 1, but without the slipping ceiling so we do have a shower over the bath. Took 8 years for DH to get round to doing it, but we do have one.
(Was meant to happen when I was Pg with DD2, she could use it all by herself by the time it actually happened).

Personally, I want both, DD2 and me like baths. DH and DD1 tend to showers.

I can't make my mind up between a small bath or a big shower. I like a bath but I am quite tall so none are long enough that I can keep warm in them but I also love a good power shower.

Decisions decisions. The room has limited space because it is above the stairs, if it wasn't for that there would be room for both bath and shower cubicle.
