Just completed on flat and got keys and went round and seller has left the majority of his stuff there food clothes everything. Agent says he isn't answering his phone!

My solicitor gone home for teh day Snow! So I have to wait until tomorrow. I have his address feel like getting a clearance bloke to dump it on his bloody front lawn

ugh, sounds grim. we're in the process of buying a flat at the mo and the seller is trying to palm off all their old crap on us but pretending they're being super-generous by leaving their crudgey old fridge etc behind.

really crap that you have to deal with it all though, that's so inconsiderate!

Isn't there a clause in your contract along the lines of 'the seller will make sure the house is empty and free from all crapfurniture/possessions otherwise the buyer can bill the seller for disposal of said items'?

There was when we sold our house.

Is there something in your contract about possessions being removed? Hire a skip and bill the vendor.

I guess it happens to a greater/lesser extent in many house purchases; our house was empty (apart from the loo brushes - bleurgh) but the garden was full of lumps of concrete, scaff poles and two piles of rotten timber, which we had to skip away.

We had this on a rental house we brought. They'd left pretty much everything and it was filthy. A real pain because we'd organised workmen to decorate and carpets fitting etc.And a tenant to be move din in a week.
Anyway our solicitor wrote a letter to seller saying collect within 24 hours or it'll be binned, then we binned it - and THEY took us to court!! Judge ruled in our favour but he wasnt impressed, wouldnt let us claim damages such as loss of rent, increased workmens costs etc.
Moral of story, seller is an inconsiderate pig, but legal action is unadvisable.
