Need a new front door - GRP doors?

We need a new front door as ours is old (70s) and leaking heat like a sieve. The ground floor is noticeably colder, not helped by the cat flap that the previous owner installed. I've blocked it up but it hasn't made a huge difference.

Are GRP doors ok? I'm wanting something that is very energy efficient and they seem to be better than other options. Do they look alright?

We need something with glass panels in it to bring some light into the hall.

Any idea of the likely costs for just a new door? There's no side panels.

Watching with interest - in same position and dp just told me that a decent door costs 10 grand! Shock Is that really true?

I certainly hope not! I'm hoping/expecting to spend under £1,000, ideally well under that.

Ours is a 70's townhouse so it doesn't need a grand door.

Ours is a 70s townhouse too! I might have a quick google.

I like a nice hardwood door.

If it is properly fitted by a skilled joiner, preferably into a new hardwood frame, with brush draught-strip, it will be pretty good.

Draught-strip your old door while you make your mind up. Has it got a big hole letterbox in the middle?

Yes. The letterbox does have weather stripping around it.
