Period fireplace but with electric fire- any recommendations for styles and retailers?

We're doing up a Victorian house which has had all chimney breasts and fireplaces removed.

We need to go for an electric fire in the living room as a result due to no flue etc., although we'll build a false chimney breast.

Just wondering if anyone else has done this and what style they went for. I'd like it to feel reasonably period although not fanatical about accuracy etc.

do you need an inset fire or a hang on wall fire? We bought a hang on wall electric fire, it looks pretty much like TV, thin and modern:) Im not sure if yo you want a modern fire into Victorian house, here is my inspiration, one for hang on wall and one for inset fire from where we bought our, cheap. Good luck:)
