German kitchens available in East Midlands region?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a distributor or showroom for any other German kitchens? We know John Lewis distributes Alno, but was hoping to find another option, ideally cheaper (it's their high-end range and priced accordingly, but in Germany, where DH is from, it's really the mid-range option!)

I know I've also heard of people measuring and ordering direct from Germany, if anyone has any hints about that I'd be grateful. We'd be able to communicate in German, of course. I think the only people I've known that have done this are all in the London area.

We're between Leicester and Nottingham.

Thanks so much. :)

Two that I know of - did not visit in the end - are Bathrooms 24-7 in Leicester (Schuller) (not a glamorous showroom, be warned!). Also one near the railway station in Nottingham ... DFM I think stock Keller which are Dutch. Have you though of online suppliers eg Withknobson?

We had a really excellent and good value kitchen from RWK, which by a coincidence is based in the town where DH used to live. We bought it from a local showroom, though, but I'm sure you could phone them up and find out how to order otherwise. Don't forget they all stop manufacturing in August.

Oh thanks for the responses! I'll have a look. I'd like a localish showroom if only so I can have some assistance planning the space. I'm absolutely horrible at design planning.

Homebase have started doing a German kitchen range beginning with an O Blush

You can design your own Schuller kitchen through www.pricemykitchen.com

We have just bought one through them and it's worked well and hopefully for a good price.

No showrooms in the E Mids though although nothing to stop you checking out Schuller kitchens in local showrooms first.

Thank you for the links! suzpow I don't suppose you know the name of the brand they supplied with? Am running the brands past DH (and the inlaws, as they're helping finance the venture and they like to be able to say if it's a good brand. Keeps them happy Grin )

LaGuerta ooh I can see we'll be playing with that, thanks. I worry about planning my own without having someone come out to the house and talk about what works well in certain spaces. Did you use a design service elsewhere and then order through the website?

Actually now that I've looked, I don't see where to design a kitchen on pricemykitchen, it looks like a blog?

Sorry about giving you the incorrect url - I'm on my phone and too lazy to copy and paste a link. Blush

So I have a DH who is very bloodyminded keen to design everything himself, so we measured and drew it out ourselves using pencil and paper (me) and software (him). Then we got a rough quote from price my kitchen using the quotation function on the website. Then we emailed them our initial design which they mocked up pretty accurately in their software with just standard cupboards. At our request they emailed PDFs to us of the multitude of drawer and cupboard options that are possible and with those we fine tuned what we wanted.

Amazingly it all fits in the space as planned even though they never visited our house, and we were moving lots of walls around so were designing a kitchen to fit a room that didn't exist at the time. The quality of the units is really nice too.
