So what advice can you give about bathroom floors?

Our current floor is stripped wood. It was a big mistake; we got the old floorboards replaced because of gaps, and this new wood now has gaps where it shrank and watermarks and looks awful.
We have had some work done to the ceiling after a leak from upstairs- plastering and downlighters put in. The suile is fine and doesn't need replacing. DH wants to tile the floor, but this will mean taking out the suite, removing skirtings etc. Is there an alternative flooring that would be less intrusive? I do like tiles, but we are looking at thousands for all the work. Any advice gratefully received.

If you put down lino or vinly you would olny need to remove the loo and basin, not the skirtings and it wont cost thousands unless your bathroom is really huge.
Also they are much warmer underfoot than tiles, far nicer for bare feet IMO.

We are about to tile ours (with underfloor heating). It won't cost thousands unless you have the worlds largest bathroom.

But if you don't fancy tiles we were toying with the idea of karndean. Might be worth a look.

Thousands?!

How big is it?

You could use rubber flooring or decent laminate floor?

OK so a slight exaggeration about thousands. Plumbers are expensive around here, so removing and replacing the suite would cost a lot. The bath is a free standing one with feet- a few years old, but still looks OK. I don't really like laminate, but will have a look at alternatives. Thanks for advice.
