How long to wait to put in an offer once you received yours?

How soon can you put in an offer to buy once you have received an offer on the property you are selling?

Assume you have seen a property that you really like and you only just received an offer on the one you are selling.
Would you put an offer immediately or would you wait a little while to ensure your buyer?s mortgage/surveys etc have been approved?
I don?t want to annoy anyone (especially the owner of the house I?m hoping to buy) in case my buyer could not proceed for whatever reason.

I would definitely make an offer. The EA will ask you for details of your position when you make it, so just explain and then the buyer can make their own mind up. Otherwise you might find that they accept another offer in the meantime (possibly even from someone who hasn't even got a sale agreed yet). Good luck

I'd make an offer too. We made an offer before we had got our house even on the market. The owners wouldn't take it seriously until we actually got the estate agents to come take the photos but then they accepted the offer before we had even officially gone on the market. You just never know, and if you have got a buyer already I'd get a move on or you could find yourself with people ready to move in to your house before you have made an offer somewhere else.
