Best sink for wood worktop

I know lots of people don't recommend wood worktops but that's what we are having. So does anyone have a recommendation for a sink? I have been looking at this which is 620 mm wide but i can't quite work it out. All help welcomed!

That looks fine - we got an undermounted one which was a very bad idea.

Great. Do you think it sticks out beyond the worktop? Looks good but that could be annoying.

the Astracast very nice. It feel very solid, and runs from wall to countertop-front with no worktop underneath it, so is very suitable for a wooden top as you will not get so many ugly black waterstains. It is less than an inch deeper than most worktops so looks OK even if it doesn't quite line up. You could tinker with chopping the plaster and tiles back if you cared enough.

The sink is not very deep.

I'd go for a sink-and-a-half, though the half is quite small.

There are probably other sitable sinks. Franke are considered good.

IKEA sells a couple which are full depth too, the DOmsjo which is white ceramic and comes in single or double and the s steel Boholmen

Well, I have found some but I want a 1.5 bowl and stainless steel. Would there be a problem fitting that astracast one on a 800mm unit (with the drainer end running over the end of the sink cupboard but with extra support put in)??

you had better check the Astracast site, but IIRC last time I had a kitchen built with a sink and a half, the designer said that if necessary I could put it over a 600mm unit, with the draining board standing on the unit next to it.

All the plumbing has to go in the unit under the sink, which may be rather cramped. The Bistro feels very thick and rigid.

I think it will look neater if the sink fits over a single unit though.

I have a Bistro outside waiting for the kitchen refit.

Just thought I would do an update. We have bought and installed the astracast sink linked above with matching astracast brushed steel tap and it looks AMAZING!!! I am so pleased with it. It is flush with the edge of the worktop at front and back, and doesnt look too big. The wood worktop also looks amazing now it is oiled. Would recommend this sink to anyone else looking at it.

One piece of advice - we had already ordered our worktop assuming the sink would be cut in. In fact this sink doesn't have any worktop underneath but butts up to the worktop each side, so we could have saved money by ordering one meter less of worktop - doh!
