Any experience? I like ones like this and this but would it just end up looking grubby very quickly?

Mine is cream, it has the occasional wash down, especially around the dishwasher area and sink, and mainly the cereal cupboard! But other than that it stays remarkably lovely and cream.

EMS23 · 30/01/2013 17:05

I have Howdens Burford Cream and I find baby wipes being up the doors lovely and clean.

annalouiseh · 30/01/2013 17:25

The 1st one is a foil door and has a distressed yellow staining around the grooves already, this to some this could already look grubby.
the 2nd is a wood door, much better quality and is painted
both are easy to clean

NotGoodNotBad · 30/01/2013 18:58

Hmm, see what you mean annalouiseh. How long have you all had your cream kitchens? And is your idea of "occasional wipe" the same as mine? (about every 6 months...)

We haven't got a cream kitchen
My dh has samples on these doors in the shed, as he does kitchens.
All doors with the same finish will wipe down the same.
eg, all wood doors, all gloss, all foil doors and so on

EMS23 · 30/01/2013 19:57

Had it 2 years and the doors need wiping down once a month or so, more often by the sink. Not that I do!!

The wood work surface.... Now that's a full time job!

aftereight · 30/01/2013 20:02

I have the painted wood one (Burford?) from Howdens. It looks great, and I use baby wipes to keep it clean, esp edges of cupboards adjacent to the dishwasher. I am quite slatternly though - some people may be concerned that dirt is harboured in the woodgrain grooves/bottom edge of the shaker frame?

NotGoodNotBad · 30/01/2013 20:08

Yes EMS23, I am wanting to replace our wooden worktops, but don't like laminate and am fainting at the price of granite etc. At this rate the mouldy kitchen worktops will get sanded down and bunged back on the new units!

I have this one Howdens Glendevon which is nicer in RL than in the photos. Teamed with brown granite and purple tiles. It's no harder to keep clean than wooden or darker units.

Shop around for granite, you can get good prices.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 30/01/2013 20:25

Brown granite surfaces that is.

annalouiseh · 30/01/2013 20:25

Burford is a foil/vinyl door from Howdens
if your door is wood it will be the tewkesbury

FishfingersAreOK · 30/01/2013 20:32

I have the Tewkesbury White - is an off-white/light cream. Had it 2 months and apart from round sink/bin/dishwasher where have wiped the odd mark is fairly easy going. Like it more than our old oak/oak effect one - can see the grime IYSWIM - where as the wood/dark one it was not so obvious. Have dusted/dry wiped a few times - but just a vague schwoosh with the feather duster when doing the rest of the open plan bit.

Have a 4yo a 6yo and a labrador.
and a bit of a slattern

NotGoodNotBad · 31/01/2013 10:02

Not totally convinced I want granite anyway Unexpected. I am clumsy and will break stuff on it, plus it is cold to the touch. Our kitchen is cold and in the recent snowy weather it was 5C - indoors. Shock

Mine is cream and it looks fine. Other kitchens I've had, have shown the dirt much more I think. It has a matt finish, so I think that might be why.
