Kitchen fit - how dusty will it be?

Having done a thorough post build clean and thinking that most surfaces are free of dust once more, are they all going to be covered again later in the week when the units are actually installed? They come ready built so I'm telling myself it can't create that much dust but am I kidding myself? And what about the templating and fitting of the granite work tops? Will that create more dust or am I done? And there must be second fix electrics etc too - is that dusty?
If the fitting of the worktops & second fix does create dust, is it worth putting things in the cupboards for the period between the kitchen units being installed and everything else being done or will I have to take everything out & clean it again after the worktops have been installed?
Thanks

Depends where they are doing the work.
We got them to do all the cutting and drilling in the garage, then put the units in. They cut the granite on the drive.

How long will you have between units going in and worktops? If it's only a couple of days I would leave filling cupboard until fitters gone and you can clean the lot at once.

plaster is the worst thing for dust. If they are going to be chasing the walls for cables and pipes it will be awful.

Buy lots of poly dustsheet to wrap round things, taped tightly shut, and you can use it to make a curtain fixed to the ceiling over doorways or as a room divider.

Hide your hoover and hide the hose somewhere different, and don't let the fitters use it. Builders dust will clog and damage it. If you are going to vac yourself, but a canister vac from a DIY shed or mail-order.

Electronic equipment, especially TVs and computers, can be irreperably damaged by builders dust. The internal static will attract it.

Thank you for your replies. The first fix electrics & plumbing has been done so all of the follow up plastering has been done too and the builders were very good about dust sheets so the dust situation wasn't as bad as I'd feared.
We've cleared the garage so I'll get them to do as much of the work in there as possible.
