Rangemaster - Stainless steel or black?

please help me choose! We should be ordering it this weekend.

Kitchen will be ikea cream high gloss base units, no wall units. Sadly my appliances will be different colours until they break down and can be replaced- washing machine is silver, tumble dryer is white, fridge a very dark silver/grey.

We're buying a dishwasher and wondering if we should integrate that or have it in same colour as rangemaster?

black

stainless steel

Thanks for your help Smile.

Black more traditional
SS more contemporary
I would integrate the dishwasher if possible.

I have recently got a black rangemaster. It's the 90 one and in the kitchen it looks so much nicer than in the showroom. We got the matching cooker hood and the wrong one came with a stainless steel bar on it, but it also looks really nice so we kept it. Our kitchen fitter commented on how nice this particular rangemaster was - our kitchen units are off white.

The only thing about stainless steel is that it shows up all finger marks. We had considered the cranberry rangemaster which might look nice against your units.

ElsieMc - Where did you get your rangemaster from? We want to get one but the cooker + hood is so expensive.

We've got the 90cm version of that one in black. It looks great, much better for a domestic kitchen than SS which looks a bit industrial.

I would get the black or a colour.I think stainless steel is dated [and difficult to clean].I have a 120 cm rangemaster in cranberry and i love it.The best thing about it is that the top is black and doesn't show the dirt.

Megglevache · 15/01/2013 22:02

I have the black one. It's great.

Looks like black is winning....problem I've found is finding somewhere with a decent amount of stock to look at. Don't think I've seen any other colours but black, steel and cream.

I had originally decided on black bur wasn't sure if that was because it's the only one I've seen. Thanks for your help.

Now I just need help in finding a cooker hood.

Like this in stainless steel but can't find anything similar in black......

My other worry was that black wouldn't 'go' with cream gloss kitchen. Will it look ok?

Who knew shopping could be so blardy stressful!! Grin

Black and an integrated dishwasher. Black will be fab with cream and stainless steel cookers are a bitch to live with.

Ikea do a clack extractor, here, not like the you you linked to though. I prefer the integrated ones myself, even the 'blind' ones.

notMarlene · 15/01/2013 22:46

here

notMarlene · 15/01/2013 22:51

this is more like the one you linked to

teta · 15/01/2013 22:53

Black will go with a cream gloss kitchen. But if you have a link like a dark work surface [we have slate on either side of the cooker] or maybe black and cream tiles behind the cooker [we have antique cranberry /lime tulip tiles behind our cranberry rangemaster] the whole kitchen will look more coordinated.Alternatively you can use black kitchen accessories or maybe black and white photos for the same effect.

Maybe if your kitchen is cream, most of your appliances are silver, it would be best to go for the silver one just so you're keeping it all matching.
