Gas on glass hob?

DH and I are 'having a conversation' about hob type. Does anyone have a gas on glass hob? How do you find it? Is it easy to clean? Is it a nice compromise between conventional gas hob and induction hob? Any experiences greatly appreciated!

I am having a look at hobs at the moment and the downside to induction hobs as far as I can see it, it they only work with ferrous based pans and not with copper or aluminium.

I'm a massive fan of gas ..DH wanted induction mainly due to cleaning but so many other pluses..I have listened to mumsnet and we are awaiting 5 'ring' induction .... I wanted to compromise by a gas on glass ..it was lovely looking

I loved gas and used it for about 20 years. Last year I moved into house with electric hob, changed this to induction and now I cant remember why I loved gas.
Induction is easier to use for me personally and it has the control over heat I used to get with gas. I looks cleaner and is easy to wipe up spills.

Im sure they used induction in masterchef this year! ready to be corrected though.

Hi I'm having a gas on white glass hob - a friend of mine said that they are so easy to clean and being white glass it doesn't show the dust like the black ones do and I am getting a white composite granite sink as well I think with a darkish brown work surface they will both look good.

There are combo induction gas hobs on the market..

Induction is so much better. Easier to clean. No worry about setting things on fire. Kitchen so much cooler. Extraction easier. Highest setting higher and lowest setting lower. It is so good. I speak as a recent convert from gas having thought in"hated any kind of electric hob". Not so, it turns out...

Hi, I have a black gas on glass hob.....its a nightmare !!! Looks great when it's clean, you have to be prepared to clean it every time you use it, thinking about getting rid

Induction is a smooth sheet of glass and cleans with a simple wipe, gas on glass has all the nooks and crannies. Touch controls too make cleaning even easier.

Induction is as responsive and adjustable as gas. We have settings from 1-9 (with 1/2 settings too) and a boost which boils a pan of water as quick as the kettle.

You can leave your utensils on the glass or even your tea towel with no fire risk.

Only problem is you might need to buy nice new pans.
