Anyone got/know of karndean flooring?

Would you recommend? We have been recommended it for our kitchen diner by our kitchen designer (he's independent and doesn't supply them himself). We need quite a heavy duty flooring which won't easily scratch/show up dirt/stain. Any thoughts?

I have karndean in my hall - got it 2 years ago after 3 sisters and brother raved about theirs. I love it and although the supplier said it needed a regular "special" cleaning regime I couldn't be arsed bothered with that and I have only ever brushed up the loose dirt and washed it with warm soapy water and it still as good as new. The hall gets a lot of through traffic including the wheelie bin on compost bin days but i suppose there will be more spills and things dropped in a kitchen diner to possibly stain or scratch it. WHEN I get my kitchen revamped I am planning to get karndean in there too! So its been a thumbs up from me so far! I'll be interested in seeing if anyone posts having problems with it in the kitchen diner environment.

love it too - looks soo nice and is nice to walk on barefoot too... my dad had it in the kitchen though and found that if he dropped a knife or something sharp, the point would go through and the inside showed darker than the surface - so it could be a problem if you were going for a lighter colour..

I'm looking at getting karndean in my hall but I have had conflicting advice on which grade (thickness?) to get. Do you know what yours is rufus?
Don't want to spend money unnecessarily.

We've got it through the whole of downstairs - macrocapra wood effect mainly and slate tile effect in the kitchen. Its wearing very well, doesn't stain at all, and is vv easy to clean

Elliptic5 I'm not sure what grade ours is but I do know I am tight! we didn't go for a really expensive one. I think I've still got a few strips in a box in the unlit temple of doom shed! I will take a look in the morning and see if I can find out what ours is and let you know! Its easy to sweep and I the person who is renowned for not being into housework actually just get on my hands and knees and use a piece of well wrung out old bath towel to wash it and then skate up and down with the rest of the dry towel on my feet to dry it!

I'm so glad these are positive comments, making me feel more relaxed about it being a good option. Now, do people use bleach on it to clean the floors? I can be a bit of a bleach obsessive fan and read something about just using soapy water once a week on it Confused . Has anyone found they are limited with cleaning chemicals safe to use on it or is it pretty resilient?

bytheway that's very useful - we're thinking of the wood looking ones so hopefully it would blend in a bit better
