Is it possible to have a bigger than average gap between taps and basin?

We're getting plumbing put into the garage so we can have the washing machine out there as well as the tumble dryer. It occurred to me that it would be useful to have a tap out there so I can fill a bucket and leave DS's vests post poo explosion things to soak. It then occurred to me that I'd need somewhere to pour this water away so need a waste pipe. I don't have much room though, and certainly not enough room for a 600mm kitchen sink unit so was thinking of having a cloakroom type basin as, all I really need is the tap and the waste pipe. Looking at them though, all of the taps seem to be attached to the basins. Is it possible to have the tap separate somehow as I want to be able to fit a bucket under the tap to fill it. Any ideas or thoughts?

you can get high taps, that have a long stem, and you can get taps that fix to the wall.

both are useful for filling buckets under.

I would recommend one with a capstan rather than a knob, easier to operate with wet hands.

Ceramic taps are available with quarter-turn levers, but are less reliable, and more expensive to repair.

can you not just fit an outside tap in the garage with no drain under if you are just filling buckets?

if you get a hand basin sink you will struggle to fit a bucket under the tap

The taps are attached to the wall.

But Sausages I need somewhere to pour the water when I empty the bucket, which is why I thought a sink would be useful.

You could get a second hand butler sink and, as Piglet John says, fit a tap to the wall above it. You could put the sink low down to make it easier to tip a full bucket into it.
