make that 2 weeks.
stuff does happen and you don't want to be in a b&b for a week until you're in.
book a company to clean the old place (and preferably new place as well) takes out sooo much stress.
good luck!

Agree with the above post. We ended up homeless for two weeks between houses thanks to idiot incompetent solicitor a last minute glitch. Not fun.

until you've exchanged contracts, don't let yourself believe it will happen (bitter)

Hmm duly noted...we're FTB and the house we've bought is unoccupied (owner deceased). Ive a copy of acceptance of offer from vendor Sols...both Sols agree missives will conclude next week. Fingers crossed Smile

Ah, you're in Scotland.

Quicker process

don't give notice to your landlord until the purchase is certain - I believe that in Scotland it now is. However it doesn't hurt to give him some advance verbal warning that your notice is coming so he can start planning.

at least a week overlap if you can, why make life difficult?
