Rented property and water coming in - what to do???

I moved into my first rented property 2 weeks ago. The property has just been completely refurbished including plastering throughout. It's an end terrace and tonight when I've gone to put the kids to bed I've noticed wet patched along the landing wall / ceiling joint.

Is this something that I need to report to the letting agency or just put it down to the torrential rain that we're having just now?

Thanks

Report it, possibly due to the heavy rain but if allowed to continue it could get worse.

Thanks Bureni, I will get on to them tomorrow.

report it, and try to protect it as you would your own property by catching any leaks.

behaving in a 'tenant-like' fashion means reporting problems. Landlord can't fix if they don't know!

Move your belongings away from the wet areas to protect them. Any building damage will be covered by your landlord's insurance but it's better if nothing of yours gets damaged and you don't have to claim on your insurance.

Thanks for the replies, there's no drips as yet but big damp patches of plaster where the walls meet the ceiling, looks either like where water is coming through the pointing or could be loose roof tiles that are letting in water. I'm going to report it tomorrow as I think we're in for a wet winter!
