Well, I thought I would re-paint one of the knobs on the staircase on Sunday with Dulux Satinwood - 3 days later and it's still tacky to the touch. Any ideas?

Can only suggest warmth and ventilation to help it dry, but Grin at the thread title, CuddyMum!

Did you layer the paint on very thickly?

Thread title is brilliant btw! Grin

CuddyMum · 22/11/2012 10:08

House is warm and I used a thin layer. Maybe I ought to open a window... The paint has been stored in the garage for a while. I wonder if it has gone off?

Grin hilarious!

Love the title! DH redid our window sills months ago and things still stick to them Sad

CuddyMum · 22/11/2012 12:17

and now it's got a hair in it! Shock

At least it is not summer - you would have blackfly and or ladybirds too

CuddyMum · 22/11/2012 13:19

Now the ladybirds could be quite a feature :)

what is the doorknob made of? was it already painted? how did you prepare it before applying the satinwood?

CuddyMum · 22/11/2012 21:20

It was the knob bit on the bannister - it was previously painted in satinwood. I just painted over it. I touched up a couple if chips elsewhere in the house and they're still tacky too. The paint (which was half full) had been stored in the garage. I'm sure I've painted over woodwork before with similar paint.
