Do EAs normally give feedback after viewings?

Just that really. Only put our flat up for sale last week so not expecting an offer from the first viewers but we have had a few look round in the last few days and haven't had any feedback at all from the EAs ?

No. They always say they will but it tends to take a lot of chasing and be pretty useless when it comes ime.

YoullScreamAboutItOneDay · 20/11/2012 17:13

Agree. They say they will. They don't. You chase. Eventually they do.

purpleraindance · 20/11/2012 17:14

not really, if there interested they will leave an offer & if not, wont - obviously there not interested so thats the fb lol :-)

bigbadbarry · 20/11/2012 17:15

Mine always have!

YoullScreamAboutItOneDay · 20/11/2012 17:17

That's not true though purple. We got lots of stupid feedback, like the person who said we were too far from the station (they were thinking of the wrong station) and also useful stuff like that one room was dark (we repainted it white and it didn't happen again).

Also, if you get lots of the same feedback - e.g. garden too small- that can help if you consider re-pricing at any point.

PostBellumBugsy · 20/11/2012 17:23

Mine do & it drives me nuts. The only feedback I want is that they have an offer for me. Instead, I get mindless, moronic crap about which I can do nothing: "They felt the garden was a bit small", "they weren't sure about a town house", "they were looking for a detached property". FFS - I can't change any of those things! Sorry rant over.
herethereeverywhere good luck with your flat sale.

bigbadbarry · 20/11/2012 17:36

Oh yes, we always got it but it wasn't useful. "He doesn't want to live in a semi" (so why come and view the damn thing).

BigBirdisSaved · 20/11/2012 18:06

If you are getting non-useful advice then it probably means that they didn't 'feel it' when they looked around and are giving you an excuse. I looked at lots of houses when buying that just didn't feel right. Our last house I knew as soon as I walked in the door that it was our house, it didn't have anything to do with rooms or railway stations.

Thanks all. I rang the EA just now. First couple said second bedroom was too small and the second guy wanted to know my annual water bill ?! Confused

Mintyy · 20/11/2012 18:53

Second guy sounds possibly interested then?

herethereeverywhere · 21/11/2012 06:23

Possibly but have heard too many stories on here of people being interested then disappearing to get hopeful ! Grin

Having been on the market for a little while, my experience is that the EA always tries to obtain feedback, however, in a lot of cases, the viewers simply refuse to return their calls. They also try to give me their initial feedback from the viewing eg they loved it but then they are never heard from again. Of course, there are always the viewers who feedback that they like the house but it's too big, they like the size but are looking for a period property (you get my drift), which is more infuriating than hearing nothing at all. Finally, there are the viewers who are not on the market who say that they really want the house but never get round to putting theirs up for sale - these are the Goldilocks viewers who spend hours in your home, usually on more than two visits and sit on every bed and chair. Rant over! :)

OscarPistoriusBitontheside · 21/11/2012 18:13

Normally yes but it's generally crap feedback. We had its too much money, if it was in the area they were leaving, whereas where we are the prices are much higher.

We also had it needs work doing, it doesn't. Even when we had a builder around to check it out he said no work required.

The master bedroom is too small, the second bedroom is much bigger.

And the you'll hear from of by the end of the week.

Right now it's off the market.

Mintyy · 21/11/2012 19:59

EA can only give feedback if the viewers are willing to give it. Very often they will not respond to a follow-up call from an EA because EAs are just a plain pita, right?

And then you have the weird and wonderful world where client A wants to hear all feedback, good and bad but client B (say postbellumbugsy for instance) really doesn't want to hear it.

CuddyMum · 21/11/2012 22:51

I think what I am looking for is a Yes or a No and within a day or two of the viewing so I can mentally move on.
