Replacing our sofas and DH and I really like one in DFS that is currently in one of their many, many sales.
We have three littles so not necessarily looking for a forever sofa but am worried we might regret the purchase.
Any advice??

We have 2 DFS leather sofas that are 13+ yrs old and going strong. Our fabric sofa from Ikea didn't survive our first child (who was a projectile vomity baby) and there was only so much washing of the covers I could stand before I had to get rid. Leather is much more child friendly/wipeable! Our cat has done far more damage to furniture than our children so it's just as well I'm not precious about them since they are far from spanking new.

I think our sofas may be from DFS, anyway they are ten years old and have survived five children clambering all over them, an endless stream of pets and a few housemoves. The sofas themselves are fine other than where the cats have scratched them.

Ours is great !

YouSeveredHead · 04/11/2012 18:33

Ours is fine, one end is a bit flat but that's from over use I think!

for balance

I have 2 CSL sofas -they are shit

guarantee my arse

took them 3 weeks to deliver -which I was pleased about, but one of the sofa's was the wrong colour

took the 5 months, numerous phone calls and me sending them a sample of the fabric for them to supply the correct covers
wouldn't let me collect from store, I had to wait for an 'engineer' to 'install'
morning appointment -no show
rang to find out where he was, running late -3 days late! no phone calls, no appology

7 weeks later massive sagging, rang up and was asked how heavy I was!!! (I'm not fat btw)

4 weeks later, cushions were replaced

3 months later, cushions sagged....

this pattern continues however now out of guarantee

We have 4 DFS sofas.
All serve their purpose.
Always paid straight away..dh hates credit.

TheSitChewAceChien · 04/11/2012 18:49

I've had mine for 6 years now.
No problems at all with it. It is v comfy!

I've put the cushions through the wash even though they are marked as specialist clean only and they still look fine.

I'd like a new one though, as bought it just before DS was born, so it's suffered the baby and toddler stages with him. And he took one of the back cushions to bed with him last month and still hasn't given it up...

A friend has just bought this one I've got a bit of The Jealous. Grin

DFS sofa is about 8-10 years old and fine. Covers go in the washing machine and it really has stood up to family life (Dog sat on it now... DD uses it as a trampoline despite being told FREQUENTLY not to)

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2012 20:13

Ours is fine after 5 years, it would be even better if the cat didnt use it as a spring board no matter where we put it and get scratches on it.

We had the most expensive one they do and we can sleep on it if we need to ie if dh is snoring. Which he never does because it is all in my imagination.

Some not so subtle advertising, eh?
