Laura Ashley Sofas - Help!

I have recently won the following Laura Ashley sofa's from Ebay. There are two large 2 seater Gloucester sofas and a footstall. I have got both sofas the footstool (and all the scatter cushions) for £950.00. Have a few questions i wonder people could answer. i want to be sure to what i am committing to beofre i hand over my hard earned money, as this is my first home and money is tight!

1. Does anyone have the Gloucester sofas from LA? if so are they comfortable? good quality etc?
2. Ive read really bad reviews of Laura ashley sofas on the internet, are they really that bad?

Watching with interest as we are moving into our new home next week and need a new sofa. The comfiest sofa I have ever sat on is my aunties which she got from Laura Ashley so have been looking at a few on eBay too - fancy one leather one and one fabric one ideally. Glad to see they get good reviews on the whole. I know what FlatCap means - I think ideally you do need to sit on a sofa first but with a hyper toddler and a new baby shopping opportunities are few and far between for us!

Bit late, but we went for two Laura Ashley Lynden sofas in a natural fabric. We are pleased with them but probably wouldn't have bought them if they weren't massively reduced. We ended up paying £580 each, due to getting an extra reduction for opening a Laura Ashley charge card. As they are ex display though, I don't get any comeback if there are issues. I would recommend buying new sofas with guarantees.
Good luck with your purchases. It does seem to me that Laura Ashley is going down the DFS route, with massive discounts all the time.

I bought G Plan leather with high backs. can't bear low backed sofas.

also bought one from John Lewis recently for kids, slightly lower back but still not bad.

l know its along time ago when you posted about your LA sofas but would it be possible for you to show a picture of the beige and cream one l rencently
purchased the same sofa from ebay only to find the colour shown on ebay was compleltly different lt showed beige and light brown what l received was cream and blue but seller will not refund as l paid by cheque it was collected in a van otherwise l would have refused it now trying to collect info on colours of this Gloucester sofa

Bought a sofa based on the advice of the store manager (a Worcester branch) that we would be able to wash the loose covers. We washed them and they shrank and streaked beyond use. We then double-checked the cushion covers for Care Instructions (there aren't any - despite Laura Ashley telling us repeatedly that there are) and their website (clear message that the intrinsic advantage of loose covers is that they can be washed) and their customer care line (argumentative and kept missing the point). They've charged us £64.50 for replacement cushion covers and remain adamant that we are at fault. Their shambolic response includes the rather brilliant line - "Our store managers are not furniture specialists".

We have 3 Laura Ashley sofas , I think ones a Gloucester , a Winchester and another one
They're all 10 plus years old , lovely and comfy .
A bit faded and grubby , but they've had lots of use !
All in tones of gold fabric
