knocking down a wall

Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to have a wall knocked down and the rubble taken away? Its in an extension so just the extension roof above it so not sure if it would need supporting.

The wall is about 8 feet long.

Any idea?

500-1000 as a random guess

It cost £3500 to knock down a wall in my house, it wasn't a supporting wall there was some radiators moved, some electrics and plastering.

I think it really depends. I'm having two doorways knocked through, re-plastered and doors fit - £1600. My walls are about 2ft thick.

Wow they are thick walls!

Ask a builder in for an estimate and ask whether or not it is a supporting wall. If not and you think you can do it then knock it down yourself.
We just paid £300 for all the bricks in our garden wall (about 20 metres by 2 metres) plus some rubbish to be taken away by a specialist company.

Yeah think that's what we might do. Might be quite fun to knock down a wall! I could get a skip for the rubble i suppose but i would also need a wheelbarrow . . .
