Putting a washing machine in a different room...

So we went to view a property today that we like (but we did make it clear that ours hadn't sold yet as we were still finishing bits off) so we aren't in a position to make an offer yet ... but...

The kitchen was tiny. It had a washing machine and we were wondering if it would be possible to put the dishwasher there and put the washing machine in a different room? Is that sort of thing possible? It's a bungalow with lots of smaller rooms rather than a modern large open plan thing.

You would need water supply and drainage. We moved ours to another room and created a utility space. We needed a trench dug to the new position. (Floor was concrete!)

The floor isn't concrete... so presumably room for piping? Any idea of costs? Can't work out if we're nuts or not...

Ours is in the bathroom. In a previous place we took out spare loo and put it in there. I hate them in the kitchen

We are getting rid of an upstairs loo and putting our washer and drier in there, but this isnt too pricey as the plumbing is already in place.
Can you move it to the bathroom perhaps? Or is there room to create a utility room?

Not sure there's room in the bathroom. It's dinky! We were sort of thinking of putting them in the study next to the toilet or the dinning room next to the kitchen

Ours is in a shed outside - pipe runs underground. Our kitchen is small too :)

In an ideal world I'd have the washing and drying as near as possible to the place where clothes and bedclothes actually spend most of their time. Imagine the joy of stepping out of clothes, throwing them straight into the washing machine, and jumping into the shower. All in the same room! I've got friends who did this

Mind you it's a PITA if it's a lovely summer day and you've got to cart the wet washing all the way to the garden if you want to use the free drying power of nature rather than the tumble.
