Portway stove/woodburner do you have one? do you like it?

We are thinking of buying a Portway 3 multifuel stove. Can't find many reviews online so we'd really like to hear from anyone who has one. Does the glass stay clean?

ours is an Aarrow - LOVE IT
cleaning the glass is a doddle : when cool, dip damp newspaper into the ashes and wipe the glass clean.

Get the smallest that you think will do because it's better to fire at full heat than underfill the space and burn at low heat which creates smoke and creosote.

And ime the very cheap ones are fine - bought mine at homebase in sale for 99 quid.

But think carefully they are a bit of a faff and dirty,,, and you can't really just have them on for an hour say at this time of year, they take about half an hour to really get going.

Sourcing good quality (dry, seasoned) wood is an issue to think about too.

when we bought ours, talking to friends in Wales (with no mains gas and unreliable electric) they were categoric - if it weights less than 60kg you have been conned
cheap ones will crack
we spent £1300 all up including fitting and flue lining 4 years ago - under £1000 you need to be wary
