Curious - would you buy this house?

Just wondering if the main issue with this house was obvious to the internet viewer and if so, would you still consider buying it. The price is par for the course for a new 4 bed round here, if a bit high, but that's not the main problem with the house....

Its not obvious to me what is wrong with it. I don't really like the look of it myself and it is obviously still a building site but what else is there?

Can't see anything wrong with it apart from I'm wondering why if it's new they don't convert the 25 foot cellar into living accomodation? Confused

I'm curious now! Had a look and the only obvious issue is that it's still under construction. If I look on satellite view (which I only would if I was really interested in it) there's a sort of industrial area a little way behind it but not directly behind it, doesn't look too bad...

Can't see anything else. Go on, what have I missed?

I can't see anything obviously horribly wrong with it. It's got two bathrooms and a downstairs loo, the garden's a bit small but it looks liveable.

Is this a trick question? Is it made of sugar or something? Confused

Interesting that the telephone point is in a cupboard - bit of a bizarre place to put it. And a bit strange that the cellar has double glazed upvc doors to a cupboard. Apart from that nothing stands out to me.

Are bedrooms 3 & 4 really only 3' 6" high??!! And whats with the lounge dimensions?

Good point, elvis - I'm now curious about the 13ft x 3ft 'cupboard area' in the cellar. Seems eccentric to have such a large cupboard with see-through doors.

Unless...

Is this 'cupboard area' perhaps soundproofed as well? Was that where the previous owner kept his captives?

Come on, tell us what the problem is! I can't see anything on that description that would have me worried. Although I would like to see pictures of inside.

Can't see anything wrong with it. But there aren't many pictures, and you can't see how close it is to the road.

There looks to be another house really close, going off down the side, which I suppose might put some people off, if it's overlooked.

And what's that on the other side? the caravan? Is it a caravan site?

Beds 3 and 4 have height of 3 foot 6? I assume that's the lowest point, otherwise they aren't rooms!

What's the portakabin thing on the right?

I always think it's a bit shifty when you don't get to see photos of the inside at all. Makes me think it's either a minging dump that's not been redecorated for 50 years, or else they haven't even finished plastering yet.

It has been "under construction" for the last 6 years (with very few obvious changes in the last 5 of those) and has had a blinking great big blue container outside (which is still there), so certainly no curb appeal!

I don't think its likely to be finished before he expects to sell it - would you buy an almost finished house?

Am truly curious as he needs to sell this house to start work on the ruin he lives in next door to me, which has been completely covered in scaffolding for 15 years and is in no fit state for human habitation...

Seems a bit odd that the boiler is in the lounge but not sure if that is what you are referring to. If not, then it's not obvious to me.

I was thinking of the heights of bedrooms 3 & 4 and basins etc are low level, my 6'4 DP would struggle.

I don't think it's obvious from the description how long it's been under construction

I'd like to see a floor plan as I don't really get the room sizes with all the plus and minus business!

Also noticed the room heights of the bedrooms.

I like it but would only consider buying it if all that hedge was part of the property so that i could cut it all down.

Urm, it's got no stairs to the upstairs and you need to be midgets to use the back bedrooms.
Is it just the 'under construction' part that is the main problem? We have houses sold 'under construction' in this village but there would be a caveat in the contracts that it is completed before being sold. If you are saying the price is only slightly expensive for the area then surely that is what a buyer would insist on, otherwise the seller will only get a 'house in progress' price for it.
