We have a 1930s semi. It was a standard layout but the dining room was extended backwards and the kitchen put in there.

The old kitchen had a family room built on the back of it accessed through double doors. The old back door in the old kitchen leads to a hideous old outdoor toilet via a utility area and a garage. I hope this is making sense.

I want to put half glass doors into the opening between the old kitchen and the utility and between the utility/cloakroom and utility/garage to bring in more light to the old kitchen which I intend to use as a study area.

The whole area (cloakroom, utility, old kitchen) need plastering and a new suite needs fitting as well as three doors. I also want some built in cupboards in the utility and a sun beam tube put into the utility.

We have a plasterer and a carpenter who are great but I don't seem to be able to get my head around what order the work needs doing in. Should I be approaching a general builder or architect to manage it?
