Searching for a high lavatory

DH has mobility issues and finds it difficult to stand up from modern loos which are too low. Our old loo was fine but we have a new extension now and are looking for something with a height from floor to top of pan of 43 cm or more. Anyone found such a thing?
TIA

You could get in touch with the local council or social services and ask for help from their OT service.

Or, could you just build a "step up" that the loo could be on? i.e. just raise part of the floor?

Or - look on the Age UK website for companies that specialise in this area. (Sorry - I know that your DH isn't elderly, but there is a lot of useful information on there that equally applies to people with mobility issues).

I'm sure my FIL had something that fitted over the loo seat that made it higher to sit on. No idea where it came from.

Or have a wall hung loo, and hang it a bit higher, so it doesn't look any different.

We have a Vitra Comfort toilet in our wet room (the owner before us was disabled and it was all geared round him) That is a high toilet, dual flush and soft closing.
My mum loves it when she comes to stay as she has arthritis in her knees so finds normal toilets hard work.

it is like this one www.boundarybathrooms.co.uk/vitra-s50-comfort-high-close-9623-1247081

Homebase have them as well - 885 mm height I think.

You can get a plinth to go under your WC to raise the height.

As someone else said this would be FACS eligible for your local authority OT service but they may offer you a toilet frame with a raised seat as it would probably have the same outcome. A lot of OT's are reluctant to raise the actual WC as if you have a deterioration in mobility either temporary or permanently and need to be wheeled over the WC the extra height means this is not possible. If your OH has a deteriorating condition or is prone to falls and at risk of injury it may be an issue in the future unfortunalty.

As suggested above, wall hung would be the best option or source the toilet pan from holland where they have high seats as standard (because they are so tall I believe).
