Putting a single, large, curtain on corded pair track. Difficult or Easy ?

Has anyone had experience of "converting" pair-corded curtain track so that a single large curtain stacks one side and runs the entire length instead of a pair meeting in the middle ?

I have some enormous curtains for 2 windows, which I am planning to cut in half to form 2 large curtains rather than in quarter to form 2 medium pairs. Much less sewing Wink.

I'm guessing I could just dispense with the cord entirely; but if anyone's had a satisfactory experience "converting" I'd be interested in giving it a go.

corded sets sometimes come with instructions for using them as single-ended or centre-draw.

if you know the brand of yours you could email the makers. If not see if Swish have a generic instruction that you could follow.

Corded track is not vastly expesive unless it is a solid brass pole, so if necessary you could get another. Homebase have a good range.

I got my last corded bras pole, delivered as it was very big, from Argos, it was a very good price. JL have more expensive ones.

Try to avoid brands you've never heard of as it will be difficult to get rings or hooks that fit in future.

There was nothing in the instructions.

I've had a closer look at the mechanism and it looks like it is simply a case of disconnecting either the masterslide or slaveslide, leaving just one slide on the continuous cord loop.

.....Well thats the theory :).
Why it wasn't in the instructions if it really is that simple .... I guess I'm about to find out.Brew
